The SSN De Grasse left the construction site

On Tuesday, May 27, a transfer ceremony was held in Cherbourg to move the nuclear submarine (SSN) De Grasse onto the launching platform.

De Grasse is the fourth submarine of the BARRACUDA program which aims to gradually replace the French Navy’s Rubis-class SSNs.

Its transfer to the launching facility is a key milestone in the program’s progress. It precedes the sea testing campaign, scheduled for 2026.
