Barracuda, the second generation of French SNA

Nuclear-powered attack submarines (SNA), based in Toulon, are designed for naval combat, the protection of the French aircraft carrier, and intelligence gathering. These submarines, which are larger than the Rubis-class SNA submarines they are replacing, are among the most compact in the world. They are scheduled to remain in service through the 2060s.
