A Research Tool in the Service of Deterrence

The Megajoule Laser is a tool for simulating the operation of nuclear weapons. In 1996, France stopped nuclear tests and launched the “Simulation Program,” led by the CEA, to ensure the safety and reliability of nuclear weapons. The Megajoule Laser (LMJ) replicates physical conditions encountered during the nuclear operation of weapons. It also hosts experiments for civilian applications.

OUR ROLE

Project Management Support

TechnicAtome has been working alongside the CEA since the project’s inception and is applying its expertise in managing complex nuclear facility projects to ensure technical, scheduling, and financial control of the project. TechnicAtome is involved in system engineering activities (mechanical design, interface management, digital modeling, nuclear safety and security studies, etc.) as well as maintenance and operations engineering.
