Expertise in modular assembly
8 nuclear reactors will be delivered between 2026 and 2050 for nuclear-powered attack submarines, third-generation ballistic missile submarines, and the next-generation aircraft carrier “France Libre”.
An unprecedented industrial challenge
TechnicAtome supplies all equipment for onboard nuclear reactors, manufactures their fuel, commissions them, and conducts testing. The reactor consist of modules assembled in the workshop before being transported to the integration site within the hull sections. This saves a significant amount of time, allowing the modules to be assembled outside the ship’s confined environment and improving the conditions under which assembly operations are carried out.
Assistance
TechnicAtome also provides all the support resources essential for reactors maintenance. Tools, spare parts, recalibration benches, and control platforms are certified and maintained at the Aix-en-Provence and Cadarache sites.

In the service of scientific research
In the field of civil nuclear energy, TechnicAtome provides consulting expertise and project management support on behalf of the CEA for the Jules Horowitz reactor construction project in Cadarache. Our teams are responsible for building the reactor’s main components.
Our teams are responsible for the design and construction of the reactor core. As they assemble the major and safety-critical components of the reactor vessel and the primary circuit, they draw on their experience in overseeing fabrication and performing work in confined spaces. TechnicAtome also supplies control and safety equipment.
