The onboard reactors designed by TA are operated by nuclear-trained sailors from the EAMEA

TA was once again present at the open house of the French Navy’s Nuclear School (EAMEA) on Saturday, January 20, in Cherbourg. The TechnicAtome team from the Cherbourg site was able to showcase its nuclear propulsion activities to 400 visitors at its booth.

TA has maintained close ties for many years with this school, which trains sailors who will serve on nuclear submarines or aircraft carriers.

The event provided an opportunity to learn about the school’s training programs and career paths. Participants were able to explore a 3D model of a nuclear reactor room and immerse themselves in the world of naval nuclear propulsion. Fourteen workshops were offered to the public to introduce them to the EAMEA’s specialties and, above all, to nuclear-related careers within the French Navy: nuclear engineers, radiation protection specialists… —all of which are essential to the operation of the nuclear power plants designed by TechnicAtome.
The EAMEA also hosted the President of the Republic during his New Year’s address to the armed forces.
