Barracuda program : the Tourville has left the construction dock

On July 20, 2023, the SSN Tourville left its construction dock to be transferred to the launching facility. This is the third vessel in the Barracuda program, managed by the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), which aims to gradually replace the Rubis-class SSNs currently in service with the French Navy.
TechnicAtome is responsible for the design and construction of the Tourville’s nuclear propulsion plant.

Olivier Huet, Deputy CEO of TechnicAtome, warmly congratulated the TA teams and partners during the ceremony for this success, which, he emphasized, demonstrates once again that “French nuclear propulsion is thriving.”
