A strong increase for the 2019 financial results

2 April 2020

The TechnicAtome Board of Directors met on March 17, 2020, to approve the financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2019.

With revenue of €420 million (+6% vs. 2018), operating income exceeding €72 million (+27% vs. 2018), and an order backlog that remains at a level corresponding to more than two years of activity, TechnicAtome confirms its momentum in growth and profitability. On the operational front, the company achieved significant successes in the execution of its civil and military projects, against a backdrop of favorable prospects.

To support this activity, TechnicAtome continued to hire across all its engineering, operations, manufacturing, and maintenance divisions, reaching a workforce of nearly 1,700 fully committed employees by the end of 2019.
The year was marked by the launch of the firstSuffren-class nuclear attack submarine, part of the Barracuda program. Its nuclear power plant, designed and manufactured by TechnicAtome, achieved its first chain reaction on December 17. With the commissioning of the CEA’s test reactor in Cadarache in October 2018, TechnicAtome brought two nuclear reactors online within 14 months. In the field of civil nuclear power, assembly work on the CEA’s RJH experimental reactor in Cadarache began in September, marking a decisive milestone in its operational implementation.

“Three years after TechnicAtome was sold to a consortium of shareholders led by the Agence des Participations de l’État, the company is doing well. Bolstered by these strong results and our successes in the field, we had entered 2020 with confidence, only to find it marked by the impact of the coronavirus. We are all working together to limit the consequences—for ourselves and for our customers—during a period that holds significant challenges for TechnicAtome’s medium- and long-term future,” said Loïc Rocard, CEO of TechnicAtome.
