Launch of the first work of development and fabrication of the PA-NG nuclear reactors

On April 26, 2024, Naval Group and TechnicAtome were notified by the DGA and the CEA of the first so-called “pre-DLR” contract (decision to proceed with construction) for the next generation aircraft carrier (PA-NG). This contract enables the initiation of the first construction work on the nuclear power plants, which will take place from 2024 to 2029. The so-called “pre-DLR” contract begins in parallel with the preliminary design studies currenttly underway and covers the long-lead-time development and fabrication of the nuclear power plants, prior to the decision to proceed with construction of the PA-NG.
