Construction launch of the new generation aircraft carrier

On December 21, the President of the French Republic announced the start of construction on the new-generation aircraft carrier.

This announcement marks the start of construction on the largest military vessel ever designed in Europe. It will be equipped with two nuclear propulsion reactors, which are also the most powerful ones ever built to date by TechnicAtome.
TechnicAtome is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear propulsion reactors, the support systems (tools, training), and fuel (nuclear cores).

The construction phase will run from 2026 to 2038: for TechnicAtome, this will represent about 5 million hours of work at the sites in Aix, Cadarache, Saclay, Cherbourg, Nantes-Indret, Saint-Nazaire, and Toulon, as well as several hundred orders for various types of equipment (valves, pumps, sensors, electronics, etc.) from all suppliers within the Defense Industrial and Technological Base for Nuclear Propulsion, the vast majority of which are located in France.
