TechnicAtome, sponsor of the 2023 great championship of the Ecole Navale

As a long-standing partner of the French Navy, TechnicAtome has been a sponsor of the Grand Prix de l’Ecole Navale (GPEN) for many years. Here’s a look back at the 22nd edition of the regatta, which took place from May 18 to 20.

This year, TA was represented in two of the 13 categories of the “École Navale Grand Prix – French Championship for One-Design Cruising Yachts.” A J80-class boat, sporting the colors of the new TA logo, set sail from the Naval Academy’s campus in Lanvéoc. The crew of the “TechnicAtome” finished 11th out of 31 in the overall standings. Congratulations to our crew for competing in one of the largest events of its kind in Europe!

For the first time, a second boat flew the TA colors in the Figaro Bénéteau 3 category. This was the “Marine Nationale – Fondation de la mer” sailboat. Since 2021, TechnicAtome has been supporting the sporting challenge of Chief Petty Officer Philippe Hartz, a former Navy commando who is now entering his third season with his sights set on the legendary Solitaire du Figaro. He finished first in this GPEN event (crewed race).

During the three-day regatta, nearly 550 sailors aboard 171 boats competed at four venues: Roscanvel, Camaret, Brest, and the Naval Academy in Lanvéoc. Several French Championship titles are awarded by the French Sailing Federation each year. As a sponsor, TechnicAtome took this opportunity to present an award to the winners of the Diam 24 category.
