At the core of national sovereignty

8 January 2026

2025 was a fruitful year for TechnicAtome, marked by operational successes and promising prospects for both the medium and long term. Last but not least was the decision announced on December 21 by the President of the Republic to begin construction of the new-generation nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

It is a decisive Kick-start of an essential program for TA and French know-how for nuclear propulsion. It will be the largest military vessel ever designed in Europe, built in partnership with Naval Group and Chnatiers de l’Atlantique. After 5 years of preliminary design phase, the embedded reactor K22 construction will envolved thousands of engineers and technicians over the next 10 years, as well as all regular suppliers.

This decision that follows by a few weeks the order of the 1srt of the 4 next generation nuclear powered balistic missible submarine provides TechnicAtome with an historical full orderbook and a trustful futur.

The TechnicAtome positive dynamic, boosted for about 10 years and supported by a growing workforce – more than 2200 colleagues – presents as a growing activity with 660 M€ in turnover and strong financial outcomes.

On the operational side, the Barracuda program moves forward. In july 2025 the Tourville submarine entered into force and in December the commissioning of the 4th submarine, De Grasse, took place. The RES transformation in Cadarache continues as scheduled, and TechnicAtome, alongside CEA, is fully involved in the RJH reactor program.

To go along with this growth and the programs progression in a buzzing context about nuclear energy, TechnicAtome led a strategic verview. A new roadmap known as CAP 2035 has been set up, it provides TA with guidelines for the next 10 years.

At the core of sovereignty and national deterrence, major actor of the French nuclear industry, TechnicAtome starts 2026 at its best.
