TechnicAtome has signed the charter on supplier relations and responsabible procurement
14 December 2022
TechnicAtome signed the Charter on Supplier Relations and Responsible Procurement (RFAR) on November 30 during the Nuclear Valley event, which brought together more than 500 decision-makers from the industry in Lyon.
This is a voluntary initiative to which TechnicAtome has committed. The company has demonstrated to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Procurement Council (CNA) that it implements best practices throughout the procurement process in order to “ensure fair, equitable, objective, and respectful relationships with all suppliers and subcontractors.” TechnicAtome has also appointed the three representatives required by the Charter:
⦁ a supplier relations mediator whose role is to facilitate dialogue,
⦁ a point of contact for SMEs whom suppliers can reach out to for assistance in establishing contacts
⦁ and a Charter coordinator responsible for engaging with suppliers. The latter has completed training to raise awareness of the Charter’s key issues.
“With this charter, we are formalizing our commitment to implementing best practices with our suppliers and integrating environmental and social considerations into our procurement. This is a long-term commitment that forms the foundation of TA’s responsible procurement policy and should gradually lead us toward certification for our organization,” explains Sébastien Lipp, TechnicAtome’s charter coordinator.
In addition, the annual meeting dedicated to nuclear safety for external contractors was held in Aix-en-Provence on the same day. The 2022 event brought together 70 participants representing 40 of our main suppliers, as well as TechnicAtome employees, the commander of the EAMEA (School of Military Applications of Atomic Energy) in Cadarache, and representatives from the CEA/DAM and Naval Group.
After a review of TechnicAtome’s priorities and expectations regarding nuclear safety, the sharing of lessons learned allowed the discussion to get to the heart of the matter. A specific regulatory discussion addressed the ISO 19443 standard, for which TA is certified, with a focus on counterfeit, fraudulent, and suspicious items, which, given their implications, require both clients and suppliers to pay particular attention.
Finally, awareness was raised regarding corporate social responsibility (CSR) and companies’ carbon footprints. A quiz and a roundtable discussion encouraged the involvement of all participants and led to lively exchanges.
This highly appreciated annual event facilitates the sharing of experiences, the exchange of best practices, and reflection on areas for improvement.
