TechnicAtome presents its workload plan
27 June 2024
As part of the “Journées Perspectives” event organized by GIFEN (the French Nuclear Energy Industry Association), Olivier Huet, Deputy CEO of TechnicAtome, presented on June 18 —jointly with Naval Group— the workload plan for the coming years to suppliers in the nuclear sector.
Olivier Huet reminded that four new nuclear reactors have started over the past five years to support nuclear deterrence. The pace will remain steady, and the outlook for nuclear propulsion is strong, with two nuclear submarine programs currently underway and the future aircraft carrier program in the pipeline. A two-decade work plan is already in place.
This presentation provides the supply chain on the skills required and the professions involved to ensure the successful completion of each project in the coming years.
Bringing together all the contracting authorities, these events help organize and coordinate the sector and the entire supply chain. Olivier Huet thus emphasized the major challenges facing the defense nuclear sector: pragmatism and identifying precise needs, cybersecurity, and a product-focused approach, notably through a common reference framework. “We are entering a phase of growth for our business together. We will collaborate over the long term within a virtuous cycle linking defense and civil nuclear sectors. I hope we’ll all take great pleasure in advancing our wonderful nuclear industry!” he concluded.
