TechnicAtome and its supply chain : a close relationship
9 April 2024
As TechnicAtome’s naval propulsion programs—the SNLE3G and the next-generation aircraft carrier—enter a procurement phase, orders for equipment over the next 10 years are coming in one after another. TechnicAtome must therefore ensure the robustness of its industrial base.
Approximately 200 suppliers are deemed strategic to the success and sustainability of TA’s sovereign mission: deterrence. They are subject to special monitoring. TechnicAtome regularly assesses the risks of failure and the vulnerability of suppliers and implements specific support measures in collaboration with stakeholders in the nuclear and naval sectors. The establishment of joint committees is one way to strengthen relationships with suppliers.
TechnicAtome has also implemented a “responsible procurement” policy aimed at establishing a balanced and sustainable relationship with its partners within a framework of mutual trust. TechnicAtome has been a signatory to the “Supplier Relations and Responsible Procurement” charter since 2022, which certifies that the company implements best practices to “ensure fair, equitable, objective, and respectful relationships with all suppliers and subcontractors.” The company is deeply involved in the economic and social fabric of the regions where it operates. In 2023, 99% of its procurement volume was sourced from suppliers located in France. 95% of TA’s suppliers are French.
