  • Conduct development or detailed design studies: detailed definition of systems, hardware and software, justification of definitions, lists of components, interface, technical choices, validation plan, wiring and layout studies.
  • Provide industrial control and follow-up of production: procurement, manufacture, manufacturing monitoring, in-factory tests.
  • Carry out testing and commissioning of systems and equipment.
  • Support and train operators.
  • Provide a constant technological watch in the field.
  • Provide configuration management of the relevant systems.
  • Carry out monitoring and maintenance of systems and equipment in use.

  • Provide support for the test and commissioning phases
  • Provide configuration management and software maintenance (scalable, corrective maintenance)
  • Provide a constant technological watch in the field.

Electronic Equipment & Sensors

Guarantee the use of techniques relating to the methods of design, manufacture, qualification, integration, operation and maintenance of electronic modules and calculators.

Activities related to the profession:
In the field of electronic equipment, safety and industrial I & C systems meeting the operational and normative requirements of safety, availability and reliability, and meeting industry classifications and standards:
  • With I & C architects, carry out design or preliminary design studies: architectures, choice of components, hierarchy of functions, operational requirements, costs, integration, management of interfaces (electrical system, fluid system, layout, etc.).
  • Manage development or detailed design studies carried out by the equipment manufacturer: detailed definition of the equipment, justification of the definitions and technical choices, control of interfaces, validation plan, cabling and mechanical integration study.
  • Identify the range of suppliers with the purchasing department, provide industrial control and follow-up of manufacturing on the equipment manufacturer’s premises: procure, launch manufacturing, manufacturing monitoring, first article inspection (FAI), acceptance on the equipment manufacturer’s premises of prototypes and series, industrialization of the series, monitoring the equipment manufacturer including lower echelons of outsourcing, analysis and treatment of discrepancies.
  • Specify and manage identification and equipment qualification tests, and interconnected testing.
  • Participate in the commissioning of systems on the facility.
  • Support and train users.
  • Provide configuration management in the domain concerned.
  • Provide a constant technological watch and detection of obsolescence in the field.
  • Provide follow-up, traceability and maintenance of the equipment in service (curative, corrective and preventive maintenance).
  • Capitalize on experience feedback in the different phases of equipment life (studies, manufacturing, maintenance, end of life).

Activities related to the profession:
In the field of instrumentation, sensors, measurement methods and techniques used in I & C systems, help systems:
  • Perform definition or preliminary design studies: identification and development of needs, identification of selection criteria, choice of industrial constituents meeting operational requirements, cost studies.
  • Manage studies for the development, production and qualification of special sensors.
  • Provide industrial control of the process of procurement and qualification of instrumentation and measurement solutions.
  • Perform tests and commissioning of measurement systems.
  • Support and train operators.
  • Monitor equipment in service and manage it in configuration.
  • Provide a technological watch in the field.
