  • Carry out or manage R & T actions, ensuring that they are integrated into the design repository, and provide an active technological watch
  • Support the unit in charge of training (Training Centre) to prepare and run the corresponding course.

Safety studies

Ensure regulatory and operational safety in our projects.

Activities related to the profession:

The activities described below concern civilian nuclear facilities (reactors, laboratories, storage pools, etc.) and military facilities (on-board reactors, on-shore facilities).

  • Guarantee that regulations are applied.
  • Produce all regulatory safety files.
  • Conduct deterministic safety studies and analyses to demonstrate safety.
  • Conduct safety instructions.
  • Participate in operational monitoring and make use of experience feedback.
  • Conduct probabilistic safety studies.
  • Conduct operational safety studies (this topic also applies to the field of transport, particularly rail transport).
  • Provide support for the crisis unit as part of defence support.
  • Carry out or manage R & T actions, ensuring that they are integrated into the design repository, and provide an active technological watch
  • Support the unit in charge of training (Training Centre) to prepare and run the corresponding course.

Guarantee the safety of cores and facilities that meet the thermal-mechanical and thermal-hydraulic requirements of our projects, from design to operation.

  • Carry out design studies for nuclear steam supply systems or facilities.
  • Write up and process the corresponding safety files
  • Participate in operational monitoring and make use of experience feedback.
  • Provide support for the crisis unit as part of defence support.
  • Carry out or manage actions, ensuring that they are integrated into the design repository, and provide an active technological watch.
  • Support the unit in charge of training to prepare and run the corresponding course.

Radiation protection - Criticality
Activities related to the profession:

Ensure radiological safety and criticality in our projects.

  • Carry out design and sizing studies for biological protection or radiological consequences for nuclear reactors or for facilities containing radioactive products (storage, transport).
  • Conduct criticality studies in the design of facilities or equipment containing fissile material.
  • Perform fluence calculations for the needs of irradiation records of reactor steels.
  • Write up and process the corresponding safety files.
  • Participate in operational monitoring and make use of experience feedback.
  • Carry out/manage R & T actions, ensuring that they are integrated into the design repository, and provide an active technological watch.
  • Support the unit in charge of training to prepare and run the corresponding course.
